Switchable Glass
Switchable glass, also known as electrochromic, dynamic, dimmable, or smart glass, is the new state-of-the-art technology with built-in functionality to vary light transmittance and thermal properties of windows. What makes switchable glass so unique is that it allows users to control the amount of heat or light that passes through the glass, giving them the ability to regulate temperatures or create privacy at the flick of a switch.
Switchable glass can save costs on heating, air-conditioning and lighting and avoid the cost of installing and maintaining motorized light screens, blinds or curtains. While a small burst of electricity is required for changing the opacity of the glass, no electricity is needed for maintaining a particular shade once the change has been effected.
